It did show an infection in a bone at the base of her ear. Subsequent tests have shown that the infection is clear now but the dementia is still present. I guess they are going in for more tests and a second opinion. <br />I too had figured it was a stroke given the rather sudden appearance of the symptoms.<br />They haven't totally ruled out Alzheimer's. We are praying that is not the case. We've dealt with dementia and Alzheimer's in our family. It doesn't usually come on quickly.
