A Maybe on the Likelihood Scale

I believe I have discussed before #1's disdain for all things girly. Doesn't want her hair messed with, lives in t-shirts and slicky pants, no Barbies, dolls, princesses, or anything of that nature. No nail painting (actually when she was a preschooler she liked this quite a bit, but since hitting grade school NO WAY!)

So you can imagine my surprise when a week or so ago, I found out that #1 had willingly agreed to play with MAKEUP and PERFUME while at my mother's house. We were all meeting at a restaurant to celebrate #2's birthday. The girls were with my mom after school and had been playing outside. My mom came in to get herself ready and suggested the girls do a little clean up too, because as she put it, "That is what we ladies do."

Now that phrase right there SHOULD have incited immediate rebellion in #1. But it didn't, she was all up for using the body spray, and let my mom put eyeshadow and lip gloss on her. (Now I had to have a bit of discussion with mother about the makeup part. Play at home fine. Out in public not fine.) Of course we could not hold back our shock. BH asked if boyfriends were next. #2 replies in a very haughty way, "That would be a maybe on the likelihood scale Dad."

There was no way we could contain the laughter at that one.

To top it off, #1 asked if we could go to Bath and Body Works to get some of the body wash and body spray that Grammy had. After I picked myself up off the floor I answered yes of course!

Things they are a changin'.

While we are sort of on the funny things kids say topic, #2 comes up with this lovely question a couple of days ago out of nowhere:

"Mommy what happens to ghosts when they die?"

In one of my finer mommy moments my answer was to simply laugh.

I laugh because I have no idea what to answer. So I use my best therapy tactic.

"What do you think happens to ghosts when they die."

Thankfully she did not seem to concerned.

Recipe for a Sleepover

So I am now the parent of children who are aged 11 and 8.

#2 celebrated her 8th birthday last week, with a slumber party.

#2 is a big fan of the sleepover.

I do not always share her enthusiasm. Because sleepover = very grumpy child the next day.

Now I deal with many MANY grumpy children at work all day long. Therefore I prefer to limit my exposure to grumpy children at home on my days off as much as possible.

I feel that I have come up with a solution that allows both parties to get their way when it comes to sleepovers.

First, during the school year I pretty much insist that the sleepover take place on Friday night.

Why?

A couple reasons:

1. Children have been in school all day, all WEEK for that matter, so they come to you at least somewhat fatigued already.

2. We have Saturday AND Sunday to recover from the sleep deprivation that is de rigeur for a sleepover. (I am sure there are many reasons why when the children go to bed several hours past their regular bed time at one of these functions they feel that they must rise an hour or two EARLIER than they would on a regular day. I will never accept any of the reasons this happens because they are all ludicrous, I don't care what you say.)

Next, call me mean, boring, whatever but I set the lights out and lights out no more talking times. I can not in good faith go to sleep if someone else's children are up and running around my house. I need to sleep, therefore the kids are going to sleep. I generally have a lights out at 11, and no more talking at 11:30. This does help curb some sleep deprived grouchiness, because we are not staying up until 4 AM. I really have not gotten any complaints about this policy from the wee ones.

Last, naps the following day are manditory. No questions asked. Do not even attempt to talk me out of it. This is part of the child price for being allowed a sleepover. #2 didn't even have to be told after last week's party. She went on her own. Bedtime is also early that night.

Since insituting this plan, I have experienced much less grouchiness the following day.

I don't even cringe openly when requests for sleepovers are made any more.

Feel free to adopt this recipe as your own.

Tweak it to meet your needs, but I can not guarantee results if you do.

Professing my love to Sirius

If you have been reading this blog for a long time, you may recall that in the past I have had a rant or two about the piss poor state of radio 'round my home town.

If I was a cooler, better blogger I would have those posts tagged, categorized, bedazzled, and all the other things the hip bloggers do. Alas I am lazy and do not bother with all that, therefore I am not going to be able to link back to those posts. I have neither the time nor inclination to go back through 3.5 years of posts to find what I am looking for.

YOU may if you are so inclined however. Might be fun if you have absolutely nothing else to do. I think some of those early Babbles may have been entertaining from time to time. But I digress......

My poor patient husband has been listening to me bitch, moan, repeatedly switch the station, sigh, moan again before turning the damn radio off altogether because I am so very disgusted. Why the man has been willing to ride in a car with me is a mystery.

I guess he finally got good and fed up with my behavior because for my birthday a couple of weeks ago he got me a Satellite Radio!!!!!

I had looked in to that before, several years ago but was unimpressed with the station selection and twitchy about paying for radio.

Things have improved greatly since I last looked into it, and I am GLAAAADDDLYY paying for the service. To me it is worth every penny to hear my beloved music. The artists I love. The era's I love....

Oh my God I love it. I want to drive around in my car all the time, but luckily I don't have to because I got a groovy fancy boombox that plays my little radio any where I want!

Car rides are so much more pleasant with my new toy. Of course we always have to drive my car now, but I don't think my BH cares because his wife is a bitchin' no more!

Y'see I tend to be a bit of uh well....snob I guess when it comes to the tunes. I have always kind of been that way, and just can not bear to sit and listen to music I don't like. High school dances were painful for me primarily for that reason, and likely why I went to very few of them, among other reasons I recall one where several of my friends and I staged a sit in because the DJ was playing crap. Guns n Roses, awful 80's hair bands, and other assorted horrors. I am sure we thought we were edgy and cool, but more likely we just came off as assholes. Ahh hindsight.

For our wedding dance BH and I laboriously made numerous cassette tapes, because I (with his full agreement by the way) flatly refused to have a DJ come and "play nothing but top 40 crap, or GOD FORBID.... County music on our special day. Did you know that DJ's let people come up and make requests??? Oh God the horror!! THE HORROR!!" (Hmmmm....I don't think there is a much better example of my control issues.)

So now I have hundreds of channels that cater to just about any musical whim I have.

And I LOVE it. Love it again, and then I love it some more.

Worth every penny of that $14 a month to me. Every.Last.One.

Disturbed Maybe, Bothered Definitely

Last night I once again dreamt that I was at work. I really hate those dreams. I especially hate them when I am on vacation as is the case right now.

So the dream starts off with me just being at work doing what I do. Then I am off to meet with my former supervisor about new job responsibilities that she will be overseeing. (A dose of real life there.) While meeting with my former supervisor, a co-worker comes in and crawls on to a couch that is in the office, says that she needs to take a nap and then uses a remote control which causes the couch to fold up and cocoon her. Next, my former supervisor and I are driving in rainstorm, it is a very heavy rainstorm, and suddenly something (I still don't know what) crashes through the windshield and shatters it. Then in the funny way that dreams do, we are all back in her office talking about what happened, and checking to make sure everyone is ok. I say I am fine, but my mouth is full of glass from the windshield. I keep spitting mouthfuls of glass in to a sink. I start to panic about the possibilities for me if I have swallowed glass, and then wake up.

This dream has stuck with me all day. One reason I think is because the sensation of having a mouthful of glass seemed very real. That has creeped me out on several occasions today. The second reason is I keep wondering what this dream might be about... really. Oddly, I seem to be halting that stream of thought before it goes to far.

I am not always sure what I think about meaning in dreams. But for whatever reason this one is bugging me, so I feel that on some level there is more than just a weird dream going on here.

I think that part of me does not want to examine it because of my less than cordial feelings about changes the agency has implemented right now. As I have said in other posts I am trying really hard to push through these feelings. Given my complete dread about returning to work next week, it seems the pushing through is not going so well.

Bleah. I do not like this. Not one little bit.

Missy is struggling.

Making them earn their keep

We are a family that does menu planning. Sunday is grocery day, we make our menu, make our list and then I am off for my weekly torture session.

At least once meal during the week is totally kid friendly. Meaning both children will eat it without complaint. Additionally meaning that the meal consists of macaroni and cheese with either fishsticks or chicken nuggets. (Please pardon the pause while I gag.)

It will likely come as no surprise that this meal often gets skipped because BH and I Do.Not.Want.To.Eat.That.Nasty.Shit. So often we devise some clever reason that we have to eat out and not cook that meal.

STAMPS!! We must go out and get stamps!!! All of us together!!! We have to get them from the store on the otherside of town because they have the pretty ones that REALLY adhere to the envelope and by the time we get there and back well it will be getting late and the kids have school tomorrow .. we can't get them in to bed late, so I guess we better stop at Chipotle and get some dinner to save time since it is RIGHT THERE.

Or something like that.

We are in a NEVEREFFINGENDING quest to eat out less, so my BH came up with the brilliant idea a few weeks ago to have the children cook this meal, so that we would not be able to excuse our way out of it and go out again. The kids love this idea and have been all over it. Of course the problem is that we still have to eat the nasty fishsticks/chicken nuggets. So after a few weeks of success we have been slipping back in to excuse/avoid the meal mode.

I have been looking for cookbooks for kids, or something of that sort to help expand their cooking skills beyond heating up an oven and heating up frozen food, and also to widen and vary the menu a bit.

If anyone has any suggestions about cookbooks, websites, etc. I am all ears.

Please help us on our quest to just say no to sticks made of frozen fish parts.

37 is the new 25

Ahh yes...as of today I am another year deeper in to my 30's. I am officially 37.

I never did come up with any resolutions for the New Year, and while I typically do not keep my resolutions for long, in some ways I have felt a bit off kilter, without having any specific goal to start off the new year.

I decided a few days ago that I would treat my birthday like the new year and makes some resolutions regarding my 37th year on this earth.

Since I don't like to "reinvent the wheel" as they say, I have decided to take a cue from BH regarding my goals for 37.

Or in layperson terms I am totally copying him.

Since the beginning of the year he has been giving up one unhealthy habit every month. He has had pretty good success so far.

As I have viewed his success and have been increasingly more guilty for imbibing in front of him those things that he is choosing to relinquish I thought this would be a good route to go.

SO! After today I will no longer be drinking soda. That is where I am starting. I think it will be a fairly easy task and be a good way to get me on track with this program.

Next month...Fast Food. I was going to say candy, but there is no way I am going to be able to pass up Reece's Peanut Butter Eggs. Candy is going to be hard and ugly. Because my primary consumption of chocolate happens through candy.

I will post the warnings when it is time for that one. I may start writing out my apologies now. I don't even want to think about what my blog posts will be..probably something along the lines of : Whine, whine, crazy, bitchy, whine, whine, ANGRY TIRADE, whine, whine, whine.

Maybe I shoud just copy and paste the above now and save myself some trouble.

The World Didn't Even Come to an End!

Friends something happened last weekend. Something that happens about as frequently as oohhhh..Haley's Comet or something like that.

I went out.

By myself.

No children.

No husband.

Just me and a few other adults.

Not one time.

Not two times.

THREE WHOLE TIMES!!!!!

One of them was even spontaneous!

It was glorious. It was much needed.

I have not been faring well in the mood department these past two weeks. I have some angry feelings about some things and I am struggling mightily to let those feelings go. I have not been terribly successful. I do not like it one little bit.

One of my outings involved re-learning a previously learned skill. By previously learned skill I mean something that I never really learned how to do correctly in the first place. I learned to crochet!

Here are my first efforts:

I call this one "Bookmark." Or more accurately "Learning different stitches, or whatever you call them." Apparently technical terms were not part of my education.

This one is "Granny Square in Progress"
It was lovely fun and I look forward to someday actually making a complete crocheted...something.
Now I need to go do some mediatation or guided imagery or something to get this ugly angry beast OUT!! Out of my head!

Musings, 3 Years, and My Crazy

My doorbell rang a couple of weeks ago and there is a man I do not know at the door. Of course I do not open the door, and instead talk to him through it. He immediately told me that he was a nice guy, and wanted to know if he could rake leaves, to earn some money to buy asthma medication for his son. I said, "No thank you." and he went on his way.

I know that I did the right thing, still it makes me a bit sad to think about it, this lack of trust for my fellow humans. I am saddened that I automatically think that a person who does this is lying, or in some way trying to hurt me and mine. He had what looked to be a print about the medication he was trying to get. BUT.. it was dark and thus not an ideal time to rake leaves, and he did not appear to have a rake or any sort of gardening implement. Sad indeed.

About two weeks ago I celebrated my 3 year anniversary at my current job. This is the longest I have spent at any job ever. I am not lying. So if we do the math according to Missy Job Time I have actually been there the equivalent of 15 years. Now if I could just convince the Powers That Be, and get that sweet vacation accrual that comes with 15 years years of employment. An adjustment in pay would be nice too. I guess I am no longer classified as a Chronic Job Hopper. Now I am a recovering Job Hopper.

It has been tough at times to push through. Usually by this point I have moved on to some new challenge and have that period of excitement about things being new, different, and SURELY better. I guess what I now know is that yes, the new job is well... new. The different is rarely the different that I hope for, and the better is usually only short lived at best. So I have pushed through. Having a nice bank of sick and vacation time has helped me push through. The thought of having to build all that up again somewhere else is just more than I want to do. Silly or not, that is the way it is. Ya gotta find the thing that motivates and this is it for me. I think some laziness is creeping through too. I don't want to have to learn new rules and all that other crap that comes with starting a new job. I am getting old. I don't have the energy for that shit anymore.

Continuing to push through is going to be very tough. Some changes are coming down because of budget concerns, and I am NOT HAPPY to say the very least. I am hopeful that the changes will not seem as bad as they do now. I promise that if they are as bad as feared I am not going to be liveable. I wish that I could say more, but I find it best not to say too much about work on the blog.

I am having some sort of weird urge to purchase what you might call big ticket items lately. The list of things I have felt the urge to buy:

iphone
new car
Playstation 3
Flat Screen TV
New surround sound system for the flat screen TV
Eliptical exercise thingy

I am not sure what this urge to spend money on Items I Do Not Need is all about, but I can say that it scares the poo out of BH, and I would be lying if I said it was not a little fun to make him nervous sometimes.

Maybe urge is to strong....it's more like a desire I guess, because it isn't like I am actually shopping around for them or anything.

Ok full disclosure time. I have done a little shopping around for a car. I actually have a rationale for that one. In a few years, I am sure my car will need to be replaced. Given the current issues for car dealerships I figure right now is a GREAT time to buy. The local dealership has called twice stating their desire for our trade in. We have a small car with good gas mileage, used versions are in demand. Mine is still in decent shape. I would be helping the economy!

I gotta go. I uh....have some car sites, I mean uhhhh...laundry to do.

Need a way out

Hope you all are well.

I continue to be a big blog slacker as you can obviously tell. I have a post that I have been working on, but can't seem to get it finished.

Got to figure out a way to improve my posting numbers.

I think the answer lies somewhere in the phrase " Spend less time on Facebook."

How do you get out of blogging slumps?

500

At long last I have reached the 500th Blog Post.

I have had a lot of trouble deciding how to mark this momentous occasion.

Then tonight I took a picture.....

BH is tickled pink that his BW made it to 500!

Pathetic=Me

I can't say that I really had a true New Year's Resolution this year. I had a lot of thoughts, but never settled on one thing.

Every year I vow this is the year that I will adopt healthy eating habits. I do well for a while and then I swan dive gracefully and purposefully off the wagon of healthy eating habits.

In many respects this year has been no different. New Year's Day rolled around and I ate a healthy breakfast...and then scarfed several pieces of left over fudge from the previous evenings' festivities.

The beginning of the week rolled around a few days later and I got serious. Because I have to. I have been on approximately 5 month binge of eating crap, not exercising, going to bed ridiculously late and a toll has been taken. I am grumpy, outgrowing my pants, tired, and generally unfit.

So I signed up for a 7-day free trial of Weight Watchers. After three days the points counting once again is making me a lunatic. I don't have time to enter points throughout the day. I foolishly thinking I am doing really well until I count up my points at the end of the day, am over and still hungry. I soldier on. However by Friday I am done. I just can't make myself pay to do what I already know I need to do and am doing for the most part. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Eat appropriate portions. Drink water. Exercise. I decide my money is better spent joining the Y. At least there I get a pool.

I have continued to monitor what I am eating. Appropriate portions! Fruit! Vegetables! Water! Exercise!

Now you have the back story to what I am about to confess.

Today I had a client successfully complete therapy. When this happens I plan a celebration, and I let the child pick a special treat to eat during the last session. Today the choice was Hostess Cupcakes. I ate one with the child. Not a big deal.

There are enough left over for both kids and BH to have one. So I bring them home. #2 nibbles on hers and declares that she doesn't like it because it has whipped cream in the middle. She deposits the cupcake on my plate.

I stare at it for several minutes as I eat my carrots. Then I begin to pick a the frosting. I mention to BH who is sitting across from me that I am trying not to eat it because I already had one today, and eating another really blows my portion control efforts. He suggests putting ketchup on it so I will leave it alone. I laugh at him. And of course continue to pick at the frosting. I eat all the frosting. I pick up the ketchup bottle and douse the motherfucker. I turn it upside down to smush the ketchup. I pause. I look. I pick up the bottle again as BH starts to laugh. Laugh because he knows my thought process and subsequent action....I have to drown the other side before I eat down to where there is ketchup.

Yes folks. I am that sad, and that weak when faced with a mere cupcake.

Don't judge me.

Merry New Year etc.

Juuuuust checking in. It has been more than a week since my last post and I don't want the ad police to come after me! Gotta live up to my bargain.

Hope you all had lovely holidays and an excellent new year.

So after this one I believe I will only be 2 blog posts away from #500. When I started this thing I thought I would be doing well to get to 5, let alone 500.

I feel like I should do something a little more special for that post. For those of you who check in here on a regular basis it will come as no surprise to you that I am lacking ideas for just what that special thing should be.

As always I am open to suggestions.

Hello?????????

Still Waiting on my Christmas Spirit to Arrive

Friends, Countrymen/women, I am NOT feeling it for the holidays this year.

I kept thinking that once the show was done and our schedule settled down that I would feel more enthusiastic. The show has been over for a week now, our schedule is much less hectic than it was, and I still have the attitude that Christmas Cheer is just one more damn thing I have to do.

At this late date I think I am going to give it up and just accept that I have low enthusiasm this year.

Maybe Fed Ex will bring it to me tomorrow. They make deliveries on Christmas Eve? Right?

Just what was the universe trying to tell me?

Tonight we had plans to go out to dinner and see a production at Topeka Civic Theatre with our in-laws, children, and two of the childrens' friends.

We planned to go to a local Japanese steak house that we frequent. We made reservations for 6:00 thinking that should be plenty of time for dinner before the 8:00 performance.

We waited 20 minutes to get our orders taken. Soup and salad came quickly after that. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. At last it was 7:15 and they still had not come to start our meal. So we had no choice but to leave, with enough time to stop at McDonald's and still make it to the show on time.

Seeing as how dinner did not go quite as I had planned I decided to order dessert at intermission during the show.

Intermission comes. I wait. And wait. And wait. Our server is busy and difficult to catch. Finally our server comes by to get the check (which plainly had our dessert order listed.) It is the end of intermission. Our dessert did not arrive and there was no time to remedy the error.

I am still trying to figure out why it was I apparently was not supposed to eat this evening.

This experience did not in ANY way help my efforts to let go of the crankiness I have been combatting for the last week or so.

(Insert grouchy, grumpy noises here)

Just so you know

I am not a the computer techie genius I like to fancy that I am.

Got a new wireless router tonight because my old one was well.....old and I have been having serious connection issues for about oh...three weeks now.

The directions for the new router seemed easy enough, however I was not able to connect to the internet at ALL after installing the new router. Not by laptop, not by desktop PC. Hence, I was worse off than before.

Thankfully the tech support person was able to help me fix it.

I have pondered enlisting professional help next time I undertake such an adventure.

Then again....me and tech support are free.

Next time I won't fart around for over an hour before making that call.

Let's hope this fixes my problem for good.

This no internet connection crap has been interfering with my Facebook addiction and we can't have that!

Don't go away!

I promise promise PROMISE I will return to regular posting soon.

Quick update:

Show is totally O-V-E-R! It went well, but I can not put in to words how glad I am to be done. I am saying it again. No more holiday shows for a LOOOOOOONG time.

Now I must deal with Christmas. Nary a gift has been purchased yet, and I am just approching panic mode. I have never been so late to begin my shopping, and sadly I have no idea what to get most people on my list. This may be a very uninspired year. I hate that. I love my daughters, and I fully realize they are just being children, but my head will explode if I am asked ONE. MORE. TIME. "When are we making Christmas cookies?" I have no presents, no ideas for presents. We are hosting Christmas eve, my house is filthy, and I have no idea as of yet what I am feeding all the people who will be here. So yeah, Christmas baking....low on the list. But I will come through, and hopefully come through with out biting any little girls' heads off.

I have got a MAJOR case of the too much going on for too long crankies. I am hoping that a reduction in activites and not quite two weeks off from work are going to cure me, before things get out of hand.

So once I have dealt with Christmas I hope to get back to regular blogging. I have some posts that have been percolating for a while, so there will be topics to discuss.

I hope to get back here before Christmas, but in case I don't I hope all of you have very happy, safe, and fulfilling holidays!

Ramble On

I'm baaaaaccckk.

I thing this is longest I have ever gone without posting. I am waaayy too lazy to go back and see for sure. But if it isn't than we at least have a second place going here.

There are many reasons for my lack of posting. How about a nice list, because I KNOW you are beside yourself with curiosity.

Missy's List of Excuses, NAY! Valid Reasons for failing to post for weeks:

  • Rehearsal rehearsal and more rehearsal. I think I mentioned somewhere before that BH, #2, and I are in a radio show version of "It's a Wonderful Life." We traveled 6 hours one way this weekend to perform to under 50 people I would guess. Stayed in a crappy motel with a shower that I am sure was modeled after a prison shower. Only with a curtain. We have this week off and then next week we do a live TV broadcast on our local PBS station. Then I do not plan to do a show during the holiday season again for a looong looong time. If ever.

  • Wireless router problems. I had a week of extremely spotty wireless internet connectivity. The problem somehow resolved itself. The problem unfortunately coincided with BH trying to complete his graduate research paper on the computer that actually had internet access. School trumps blog I am afraid.

  • Illness. I came down with an upper respitory infection right before Thanksgiving. I find it hard to be creative when my head is snot filled and I am trying so valiantly to cough up both lungs at the same time.

  • #1's birthday party and requisite pre-party cleaning. I was a man down for help cleaning this house last weekend because of the above mentioned research paper. I swear to sweet baby Jesus that this gets bigger when cleaning time arises. Took me two damn days, and I STILL didn't get it all done.

So those are my VERY VALID reasons for being absent so long.

Let's go back to #1's birthday shall we? During my absence #1 turned 11. As in 11 years old. Two years to go before teenagerdom hits. (Speaking of teenagerdom. I scheduled #1's yearly well child exam a few weeks ago, and of course the receptionist made a comment about how #1 is nearly a teenager. I shot back that I have two more years before I have to say that I am a parent of a teenager. She then informs me that the doctor considers kids teenagers at 12. I replied that he was welcome to consider biting my ass because I HAVE TWO MORE YEARS!!!)

Now that number 1 is 11 I feel that I can no longer put off the "This is What Happens When You Hit Puberty" discussion. Please know that my putting it off this long is not because of any discomfort with the topic. #1 has several areas where she displays maturity beyond her years. For example tonight she was able to reason that if she helped her dad with his task, she could get his help sooner for her own task. She generally is a very responsible child.

However....I really feel that in some ways she has not been emotionally mature enough to warrant this discussion. It is hard to reconcile having a discussion about the facts of life with a child who still plays horses at recess. On top of that she has exhibited absolutely NO curiosity whatsover about this topic. We have discussed some minor issues, skincare as a few zits have popped out here and there, managing BO, eventual leg and armpit shaving. The more serious topics have not come up. At all. I think I have been waiting for an opening...a question...something. I have realized at last that I am going to have to create the opening. She ain't getting any younger, and it is really important to me that she hears correct information, AND that she can feel comfortable talking to me about it.

I am not naive enough to think that this will be the first time she has heard some of this. She has friends, goes to sleepovers and the like. In my day at this age these things were a hot topic at such gatherings. So I asked a week or so ago when we were discussing her advancing age if she and her friends ever talk about what it is like to be a grown up girl. Her reply, "Nahhh..we don't have time to talk about that stuff. We are usually too busy playing warrior cats." Oooohhhhkkkaaayyyy. Maybe we will be starting at ground zero here.

I have talked a lot in other posts on this blog about us being picky about the media the kids are exposed to, that combined with #1's general penchant for fantasy books and her personality in general have kept her perhaps a bit more innocent than many other children her age. I have no regrets about this at all. I remain firmly rooted in my belief that kids need to be kids until...they aren't any more. So I guess if I am totally honest with myself part of putting off has to do with my reluctance to end that innocence. I don't think she is going to be traumatized or anything like that, but it marks a definite milestone and she will in some ways be changed by the newfound knowledge of what it is like to be a grown up. Which means a small step closer to actually being a grown up.

That my friends is something that I am not prepared to deal with yet. Not by a long shot.

I don't even know where to begin

Mymymymymymy MY.

Have you ever been off of your regular schedule for so long that it is nearly impossible to remember what it was like to have your normal schedule?

I do believe I have reached that point.

The fall musical ended Sunday. It went over very VERY well. A good time was had by all participants.

On Monday we jumped right in to rehearsals for a radio show production of "It's a Wonderful Life." We will be broadcasting live on KTWU (channel 11 if you live in my neck of the woods) on December 17. Show time is 7:00. Myself, #2, and BH will all be performing. #1 opted out of this one. #2's bestest bud will be performing too.

So that it what has kept me from the ol' blog. I figured that a constant stream of whine about how tired and overextended we are would get boring fast. I am already bored by it.

So here are a few things that have been on my mind while I have been gone....

I was of course extremely excited by the outcome of the presidential election. I have never been so nervous about an election ever. I was near obsessive over it that day. I am still excited. I would be even more excited if I was getting fewer e-mails from a certain organization that I donated to during the campaign. A remove me from your e-mail list may be in the future.

I really want to see a movie. A grown up movie. With my BH. Preferably after he takes me out to a nice sit down dinner.

If I have to eat another meal that comes out of a fast food bag I just may indeed saw my own leg off with a dull knife. It is that desperate.

We still have a huge bowl full of Halloween Candy. Still. Even after pawning it off on unsuspecting cast members.

I am actually looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. Four whole days with no work and no rehearsal. What is even better...no dinner at my house this year. I am Tha-rilled I tell ya.

There are surely other things that have been on my mind, but I can't think of them right now.

What is new with you? Tell me. I am really interested. Truly.

Check this out!

You should check out the cute blonde in the front row during Hard Knock life. There is another cute blonde behind her. I am also partial to the handsome bearded man.
