Hottie of the week (Buck up Little Camper! edition)

I have always thought that this guy was more of a hottie than his popular (and naughty) older brother Rob.

Since Chad is having some rough times in the love department, I thought it might help if I gave him hottie of the week honors.

Because you know Babble On has HUGE readership and visibility.

(I am up to 176 profile views now! Woo Hoo! I am smokin'!)

So I present this week's Hottie....Chad Lowe.

I for one am still pulling for you and the missus.

How can it nearly be Spring when we haven't had winter yet?

Man this winter has been BOOOORRRIIINGGG.

It just dawned on me as I was looking at this week's forecast full of 70+ degree weather and predictions of thunderstorms that in a few weeks it will technically be spring.

I was quite startled by this realization.

Why?

Frankly to me it has never really felt like we left fall. All this 50-60 weather we have had and the lack of snow and ice...it just ain't right.

This continual span of tame winters is really starting to creep me out.

But our president says that Global Warming is a myth.

So what am I worried about?

A smart man like that surely can't be wrong!

(Editor's note: the last three sentences should be read with an extremely large dose of sarcasm.)

#2 has got my back

Last night as we were on our way home from the world's longest trip to Wal-Mart, Beloved was a bit slap-happy and generally being silly.

#2 has a game that she likes to play where she pretends that she has a remote control that makes you do what ever she says.

So last night #2 says, "Daddy I have my remote control and I am pushing the button that will make you stop talking." She then makes the sound of the button being pushed and Daddy who is always willing to accomodate a pretend game, stops talking and just moves his mouth withoug making a sound.

#2 then says, "Mommy I did that so you could have some peace and quiet."

That's right my girl...she's got Mommy's back.

I laughed all the way home.

And Beloved couldn't say a word.

For those of you who do or don't enjoy punk..

Here is the Sex Pistols response to their Hall of Fame Induction. Here is a news blurb about it.

Good to see that the passage of time has not lead to a mellowing of ideals.

I am not one to exhibit big acts of rebellion, but I did find this both amusing and refreshing.

I haven't listened to the Sex Pistols in a LOOOOONNNGG time.

Perhaps I should dig out my copy of a copy of Never Mind the Bollocks.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm....

I am really bored right now, so I thought I would bother you all. Something has happened to the tool bar so I guess I won't get to pick a pretty color for this post.

SIGH.

I will admit that it has been nice to be WA-HAY less busy than I have been for the past several months.

However....

I am ready to be more occupied than I am now. Which will come soon enough, it is just hard to take on a Friday afternoon when it is 65 degrees outside and I have to stay here until 5:00 because I am the new person. Poor, poor Missy.

Don't be afraid to shed a tear or two at my sad and pitiful situation.

It's OK to cry.

Appropriate expression of emotion is a very good thing.

That will be $80.00 please.

Make checks payable to me.

Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

Oohh La LA!

I have wanted this for years now!

It has been my desire since we cut our cable down to the basic econonmy package to just pay for the channels I want to watch. Since I don't and likely never will desire to have more than 20 channels if even that much.

Probably won't happen.

A girl can dream though.

Well......

Not much happening right now.

New job is going well, scheduled my first client today AND they showed up which is a good thing.

Had a headache for two days (not continuously both days thankfully) that is not a good thing.

My birthday is in a couple of weeks.

How do y'all like to celebrate your birthdays?

I tend to kind of ignore mine for the most part anymore. Mainly because it typically falls during production week of my beloved's spring play that he directs at the high school where he teaches so things are pretty busy at that point. AND #2's birthday is two weeks after mine so I am usually more caught up in planning a party for her as opposed to thinking up something for myself. I will get a bit of a break this year as it is the family (and friends we consider family) party for #2. I only do friend parties every other year, becuase I am an overachiever in this particular area they tend to be pretty labor intense, and I need recovery time.

So tell me! Tell me! If you don't do anything exciting then make something up!

Home again home again jiggety jig

Numbers 1 and 2 are back home safe, sound, and T-I-R-E-D.

First thing out of each child's mouth as they came through the door...

"Mom, can I play on the computer?"

I love it when I haven't seen my children in nearly three days and the first thing I have to say is one of those motherly corrective statements. My choice this time, "That isn't a good way to greet your mom when she hasn't seen you for three days."

I then got the enthusiastic "Mommy!!!" With hugs and appropriate excitement.

Now that is what I am talking about.

Please excuse as I must go now so that I can send the computer and all it's games that are apparently much more exciting than Daddy and Mommy flying out the back door in to the alley.

A little fun for a Sunday afternoon

A friend sent me this and I thought it was kind of fun. Enjoy!

Lovely Day

Beloved and I had a lovely day.

First...slept in until 10. TEN! I can not remember the last time that happened.

Then it was off to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. Wandered around for quite some time. I had intentions of taking pictures, but the first one I took I got grumped at by some guard or something because the flash went off. After realizing my mistake I of course turned off the flash, but was then too traumatized to take any more pictures.

Stopped by Nebraska Furniture Mart on the way back to T-town just for giggles.

That store is RIDICULOUSLY huge. I came away really coveting a new mattress for our bed.

Had some yummy Chinese Food, checked in with the girlies who are having their own lovely time with Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Off to the movies...our intent was to see Brokeback Mountain, but unfortunately our local paper did not have the time listed correctly so we missed it. Saw Capote instead, which was a very good film and I now understand how Phillip Seymour Hoffman has managed to snag so many awards as he was amazing.

Our day is ending now.
Tomorrow we must take care of those things domestic and await the return of our little honeys.

We predict a short evening as there has apparently been little sleep happening out in SE Missouri.

Nighty night!

(I'm still not telling all!)

A weekend with no children..what to do..what to do!

#1 and #2 are off in lovely Jackson, Missouri with Grandma and Grandpa this weekend. Ma and Pa had to stay behind because Ma has a new job and can't take time off yet, and Pa has to conduct rehearsal on his day off.

So the Mr. and I find ourselves all alone for the weekend.

Whatever shall we do?

1. I will spend some time fretting because the children are away. While it is quite nice to have a long stretch of alone time with my beloved, I always miss my little sweeties when they are away. Also I have never gotten past the idea that no one else can take care of them as well as I can.

2. Eat dinner at restaurants the kids don't like. Tonight..Rosa's. Somehow I have managed to give birth to children who will not touch Mexican Food. I have no idea how this happened. If they did not bear a significant likeness to myself I would suspect that a switch occurred at the hospital.

3. Shop and browse for as long as I damn well please. I had a lovely jaunt with my Beloved through Bed, Bath, and Beyond AND Hobby Lobby. Picked up a few things for the new office space.

4. Go to the Nelson and who knows where else in KC tomorrow.

5. See a grownup movie.

6. I'm not tellin'.

Hope your weekend is lovely too!

So THAT is what has been missing!

I am so relieved to finally know what exactly has been missing from the current Pop Music scene.

I will sleep peacefully tonight.

You're pretty good looking...for a girl.

While waiting to attend #1's parent-teacher conference today my beloved said the absolute best thing to me.

Here it is...

Really it was so GREAT!

Alright I will tell yooooouuuuu nnnoooowwwww!

"You are so good looking that if we weren't married I would definitely ask you out."

How do I respond to that?

Why.... by giggling and blushing furiously of course!

May I recommend...

Betty Crocker Warm Delights?

They are definitely warm and quite delightful.

Hot Fudge Brownie and Molten Chocolate Cake are particularly yummy.

Try it!

Whassup?

I officially started my new job on Monday. So far so good. They are easing me into things slowly which is very nice, as often I have had the experience of, "Great! You're here! Do your job NOW! I don't have time to help you figure it out!" Not so at the new place. Let me tell you after my last three weeks at the previous employer I am ready for some down time.

I did not clock how many hours I put in those last three weeks, but two of the last three weeknds involved working, and nearly every evening involved at least one or more hours of work after the kids went to bed. That also does not count all the fretting I did inside my pointed little head when I was not working. I worked until the last minute, I did not even start packing up my office until about 4:15. Luckily it did not take too long as I never really brought in a lot of stuff since I spent so little time actually in the office.

Now that it is over I am letting go of the crankies, and last night was the easiest time I have had falling asleep in over a week, and I slept well the whole night. Thank goodness. I was beginning to fear I had developed some kind of sleep disorder, but then I let go of the crazy thoughts and realized it was likely just my reaction to all stress and anxiety.

Now I feel like I used to when the semester was finished in College and Grad School. I don't know quite what to do with myself now that I don't have work to do in the eveings as this is a job that stays at the office at the end of the day.

Perhaps it will mean more consistent blogging. I hope that it means more consistent exercising.

Stay tuned.

And so it begins....

Hope I don't ruin anyone's V-Day, but I feel I would be remiss if I did not inform you of this extremely important breaking news.

This is how they all begin.

First the report of trouble...

Then the absolute denial...

Then....."Please respect our privacy during this difficult time."

It is just a matter of time my friends........a matter of time.

I Looooovvve the way it sparkles when the light hits it JUST right!

Now all you ladies out there can brag to your heart's content about all the romantic and thoughtful gifts you received for Valentine's Day.

You go on and keep thinking that no one else got a gift that could outshine the one lovingly bestowed upon you by your one and only.

I do feel it is my right...NAY..... it is my duty to inform you that there is no way that any gift could possibly eclipse the one handed to me by my Beloved on this most romantic day of the year.

I know that all of you are bursting with curiosity so I will leave you in the dark no longer....for today I received this:

A lovingly machine crafted plastic figurine of SHIELD operative Wolverine from the exclusive house of M series. This stunning figure boasts a wide array of never-before-seen qualities such as willpower and ranged attack. When paired with SHIELD operative Mystique, this item makes a perfect gift for any couple. These figures are....UNIQUE.

I have included a picture of this gorgeous gem for your viewing pleasure.

Eat your hearts out ladies...no one can outshine my beloved when it comes to the gifts.

So has SHE donated?

I will give her props since she is promoting for a person in need.

This kind-hearted act causes me to wonder if the J-Lo made a donation herself?

Thursday, February 09, 2006

Whew!

I made it.

After three weeks of overtime and immense stress, my time at my most recent job is over.

Hopefully I will soon recover regular sleeping patterns, and the persistent sense of anxiety will go away now.

How did I celebrate?

By going out to the theatre to see an "outrageous" farce with my beloved and our dear friends.

I got a kick ass slice of chocolate cake too!

Tomorrow begins my last long weekend until Memorial Day. I plan to take a nap and enjoy a few hours of work free solitude while both #1 and #2 are in school.

There will be no house cleaning.

None.

I mean it.

Bad Brittney! Bad! Bad!

I would not want this one on my foster care case load.

I don't have time to list the many idiotic points included in the story because I need to go in to work and deal with my real non-celebrity ridden case load before I abandon then all tomorrow.

I will leave it to you fair readers.

WOW! This is my 100th Post

Huh! It kind of snuck up on me, so I didn't plan a hip gala event like they do for the 100th episode of a TV show.

So have a great snack and beverage of your own choosing to celebrate.

Also I wanted to pass on this piece of interesting information about recent Hottie of the Week John Corbett.

I think we may have to deduct a few points for country music lovin' and perfomin'.

I have to draw the line somewhere.

Hottie of the Week

It has been a while since any musicians have been represented in the Hottie department, so today I think I will get a little musical with my hottie.

So may I present the hottie who can tickle my ivories whenever he chooses....

Veeeerrrryyy Interesting...BUT keeping me away from productivity

Came to this by way of another kind of fun link from Ted over at Phronemophobia.

Here is what I learned about my name. (I used the name on my birth certificate.)

There are 20 letters in your name.
Those 20 letters total to 87
There are 7 vowels and 13 consonants in your name.

Your number is: 6

The characteristics of #6 are: Responsibility, protection, nurturing, community, balance, sympathy.

The expression or destiny for #6:The number 6 Expression provides you a truly outstanding sense of responsibility, love, and balance. The 6 is helpful and ever conscientious, making you quite capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of inharmonious situation. You are a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick, or the underprivileged. Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you will devote yourself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.

The positive side of the number 6 suggests that you are very loving, friendly, and appreciative of others. You have a depth of understanding that produces much sympathetic, kindness, and generosity. The qualities of the 6 make the finest and most concerned parent and one often deeply involved in domestic activities. Openness and honesty is apparent in your approach to all relationships.

If there is an excess of the number 6 in your makeup, you may exhibit some of the negative traits associated with this number. There may be a tendency for you to be too exacting and demanding of yourself. In this regard, you may at times sacrifice yourself (or your loved ones) for the welfare of others. In some cases, the over zealous 6 has difficulty distinguishing helping from interfering. You may have difficulty expressing your own individuality, because of involvement with responsibilities and causes. Like all with the Expression of the number 6, it's quite likely that you worry much too much.

Your Soul Urge number is: 4

A Soul Urge number of 4 means: With the Soul Urge or Motivation number of 4 you are likely to strive for a stable life. You tend to follow a rather orderly pattern and systematic approach in your endeavors. You have an inner desire to serve others in a methodical and diligent manner. You want to be in solid, conventional, and well-regulated activities, and you are somewhat disturbed by innovation and erratic or sudden changes. Excellent at organizing, systematizing, and managing, you have a way of establishing order and maintaining it. You are responsible, reliable and in the final analysis, practical. Highly analytical, you can see your way through all sorts of situations and generally have a clear understanding of the issues. You are a very honest, sincere, and conscientious individual.

The negative side of the 4 is rigid, stubborn and somewhat narrow-minded. There is a tendency to hide feelings, or to really not be aware of real feelings. Avoid being too rigid and stubborn in your thinking, and try to always see the big picture rather than becoming to involved with the detail. Don't be afraid to take a chance once in awhile.

Your Inner Dream number is: 11

An Inner Dream number of 11 means: You dream of casting the light of illumination; of being the true idealist. You secretly believe there is more to life than we can know or prove, and you would like to be provider of the 'word' from on high.

I really the words soul urge. I need to find ways to incorporate it into daily use.

Like most of these things some are true, some are not me at all in my opinion. But all in all a rather pleasant diversion if you go in for these kind of things.

Now instead of working because it is 10:00 after all I think I will go read.

The word for the day is....

Conversation with # 1 this evening:

Parents: So what happened at school today?

#1: I made up a new word. Nabasia.

Parents: Oh?! What does that mean?

#1: It means "NO" in wolf language.

P.S. I checked the spelling with the creator of the word so it is correct for those of you who plan to add the word to your vocabulary.

Sigh.....

# 2 is ill.

Again.

Today will mark our third trip to see the doctor in just slightly over one month's time.

The second trip in two weeks.

My guess is it will be the third diagnosis of a "viral" thing that we just have to ride out.

It will be the first time I break down in the doctors office, resorting to tearing at my clothing, beating my chest, shrieking, throwing office furniture, and holding the stethoscope hostage until they give me a remedy for this NEVER ENDING crap virus my chid is holding on to like it's the only rope keeping her from falling off a cliff.

That's all the stats I have for now.

Now fair readers I must leave you to prepare for the battle ahead.
